CWU Men’s Lacrosse Escapes the Rain with a Victory.

The start of the Men’s Lacrosse season was a rocky one with losses coming on the road to Western Oregon and College of Idaho. Making their third trip in as many weeks, something needed to give. CWU headed down to Salem, Oregon to take on the Bearcats of Willamette University underneath the bright lights of Sparks Field. Rain was a constant factor throughout the game as the Wildcats forged a 18-17 come from behind win.

The Cats who had a woeful first quarter, down 9-3, fought their way back to knot it up at 11. The Second half was out right battle with the Cats scoring 7 goals, to the Bearcats 6. The win now puts CWU at 1-2 and next up for the Wildcats is their home opener against the Division 1 Cougars of Washington State. The game will take at 1pm at the Nicholson Multipurpose fields. Come out and support your Cats as they try to upset the Wazzu.
