CWU Lacrosse to take on #9 Western Oregon on New Intramural/Sport Club Field-
Central Washington University Men’s Lacrosse heads to Monmouth on Saturday Feb.11 to take on the 9th ranked Wolves of Western Oregon. Not only will this be the season opener for both teams, they will actually be the first ever to play on the new Intramural/Sport Club Field at Western Oregon. This impressive new field was funded by student fees and is booked solid for weeks to come. Central Lacrosse hopes to crash the party and reverse their fortunes against Western Oregon. The Wildcats last beat the Wolves in 2008 in Ellensburg, winning 14-12, their only win since 2007 against WOU. Jake Mehl led the effort that game scoring four goals and dishing out two assists. His brother, club officer and team leader, Patrick Mehl hopes to do the same on Saturday. Patrick has had this game marked on his calendar since the schedule was released in December. Patrick was quoted saying that, “This game is huge for Central Lacrosse and having it be on the new field is even motivation to start this year strong.” More information about team, the game, or WOU new Intramural field can be found at the links given.
